Yes. He actually wants immediate cessation of funds to pay troop salaries, provide ammunition, fuel, & equipment to US Military in Iraq, and cut off funding for medical supplies to injured troops IF the US does not pull out of Iraq immediately.
Regardless of the current situation in Iraq. Regardless if the fledgling Iraqi military needs our assistance. Regardless if a complete withdrawl from Iraq would leave the country vulnerable to takeover by radical Islamofacists— you know, the people we’re fighting a War on Terror against.
And he wants you to sign the petition authored by Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Ma).
Sure, it’s laughable. Bush would never sign such a bill and it’s impossible for the Democrats to pick up a 2/3 majority in the House & Senate to override such a bill, even with a “Progressive Tsunami” or whatever they’re calling it these days.
But bear in mind that his idea isn’t new. It’s something that’s already been threatened by Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.), in position to take over the Ways & Means committee if the Democrats take over the House.
Nice prospect. You sure you want to stay home and not vote in November?
