At SEA-TAC, they’re removing all of the Christmas trees, because someone was offended by them.
All 15 Christmas trees inside the terminal at Sea-Tac have been removed in response to a complaint by a rabbi.
A local rabbi wanted to install an 8-foot menorah and have a public lighting ceremony. He threatened to sue if the menorah wasn’t put up, and gave a two-day deadline to remove the trees.
Merry freakin‘ Christmas!
What’s interesting is that the “Holiday Trees”, as many are now calling them are actually a pagan ritual that was co-opted by Christianity in Europe in attempt to get pagans away from solstice parties and into the Church.
I love the “two day deadline” get erect an 8-foot menorah, which would probably cost more than the 15 trees combined.
Some people really have to get out of their snits about the holidays. America was founded by Christians. For centuries Christians have been running the country, and Christians still are. We respect all other religions. They didn’t put up a Nativity scene. No big statues of Mary. It was a few Christmas trees. And this guy decides he’s going to get a lawyer and ruin everyone else’s fun.
Ridiculous. This is the stuff we’re worried about. Hey, rabbi, how about you worry more that there are a few million Muslims who are chomping at the bit to push Israel into the sea?
