I’m going to be quite busy today, but didn’t want to leave my 3 loyal readers out in the cold without new stories!
The first– Nintendo will replace the flimsy straps on their Wii controllers with beefier straps. It seems they are admitting some culpability, so expect some folks to file lawsuits to replace that 42″ $4000 paperweight that used to be a high-def plasma TV before the Wii controller smashed headlong into the screen.
The second– space dust! The Wild 2 space probe returned with comet fragments and revealed that comets were made of material hotter than the solar system (not surprising) but also material from the hottest part of the solar system when it was forming. Interesting stuff. I was up for a few hours last night thinking about this problem and have a few ideas. But I’ll post them after I get a chance to sit down with Science and read the whole article.
