I get many hits from people looking for “Steve Irwin Autopsy”. It’s actually rather disturbing. I think they’re looking for pictures of the autopsy, or the video where the stingray killed him, or something else that runs the line on “morbid”.
So, finally, if you’re looking for it, there’s a great little post here that confirms what killed Steve Irwin. And, shocker, it was a stingray!
Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead when they arrived a short time later. Autopsy identified that the stingray had badly damaged both the left atrium of the heart and the left ventricle which caused a great deal of stress for the heart and caused him to go into cardiac arrest.
So there ya go. No conspiracy. No murder plot by Terri. It was a freak accident. There’s no video. No pictures. Just the results. So get over it.
We still miss you Steve.
The Autopsy 
Just wanted to let you know that I was searching for the word combo as I am teaching a first aid class where we discuss not removing embedded objects from wounds and Steve Irwin is often cited as an example due to the uncertainty whether the lethal the damage was from the initial strike, or as a result of him pulling the barb out. Also, there are reports that another diver survived an almost identical strike and survived after not removing the barb – but I’m still doing research.
It was such a random strike, too– a total 1 in a 1,000,000 shot to go under his sternum and hit his heart like that.

Probably because Tupac died in America and just about everything is made public in America…….is coming from an American.
I miss him. I did not arrive here looking for pictures or videos, just information. his wikipedia article says that the coroner’s report still hasn’t been released which I found unusual. I’m not denying that he died from a stingray barb, but I guess part of me still has a hard time accepting it. he really was a hero to me.

Then paste a link to it here. There is no video. Everything was destroyed as a courtesy to Teri and I think to US. I didn’t log on to here in a MORBID CURIOSITY, as the Dr. says, to see pictures. I logged on to read notes because those are more explanatory when it comes to an accident of this nature that is a 1 in 1 million chance of hitting the heart like his was. I wondered if any other strikes to the body were made and that would only be noted in notes……yeah, right, video…pffftttthhh.
