Why? Because I deny that Global Warming will Destroy the Earth. So says Ellen Goodman over at the Boston.com.
I would like to say we’re at a point where global warming is impossible to deny. Let’s just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future.
Ellen, I don’t deny that the world is getting warmer. I don’t deny that rising CO2 levels, much from man-made sources, are increasing the global temperature. What I do deny is that a computer model is going to tell me I need to wreck the economies of the world to save the planet.
I love the line about “denying the present and future”. How can you deny the future. Has it happened yet? The world’s been warming for 150 years and we don’t have the Four Horsemen scouring the earth. I don’t see the complete destruction of humanity coming from the tailpipe of a car or smokestack of a building.
So align me with the Nazis. Go ahead. I hope it makes you feel better. Me? I’m off to conduct scientific research.
